Original diagnosis

Species parva pileo 22-50 (70) mm lato denique depresso margine levi vel tenuiter sulcata, cute secernibili viscidula, nitente dein opaca, vix undulata, versicolore, violacea, purpurascente, prorsus vel in centro olivacea, interdum fere omnino viridi, coloribus saepe intermixtis. Lamellis ad stipitem plerumque rotundatis, rettilineis, numquam serrulatis, mediocriter distantibus, fragilibus, albis. Stipite 20-55 x 7-15 mm, cylindrato vel vix claviformi, albo sericeo. Carne immutabili, sapore miti, in lamellis paulum acre, Guaiaci ope paulatim caerulescente. Odore tantum ubi secta, debili ad instar Russulae persicinae dein in sicco ad Lactarium camphoratum dilutius vergente. Sporis in cumulo albis (Ia in C.R.) 6,6-8,8 x (5,2) 5,5-7 mµ, solum 8 x 6,6 mµ in formis microsporis, verruculis circum 0,6 mµ altis, cristulatis, firme reticulatis. Basydiis tetrasporis 30-40 (50) x 10-13 mµ. Cystidiis fusiformibus 50-80 (90) x 8-14 mµ. Cute pilis plus minusve attenuatis, x 3,3-6 mµ dermatocistydiisque 0-2 septatis, 4-8,5 (10) mµ latis. Habitatione in quercetis mediterraneis sempervirentibus. Holotupus apud Capalbium lectus (Etruriae meridionalis), in loco dicto "S. Bartolomeo", 1-11-89; in Herb. I.B. conservatur nº 89/532.
