Lamellis rubello-griseolis ("Caen stone", "vanilla"), alutaceis et albopulverulentis in adultis, pallidioribus in juvenilibus, sed tund latice plerumque maculatis, lamellulis regulariter intermixtis, nonnullis interdum furcatis, mediocriter latis subconfertis vel subdistantibus, decurrentibus; sporis in cumulo separato haud visis sed certe albis vel pallidissime cremeis. Stipite albido, tomentoso-strigoso in parte inferiore, pro ratione brevi et in parte posteriore in superficiem pilei immarginate transiente, laterali, 2-12 x 1.5-3 mm; velo nullo; mycelio basali tomentoso albo. Carne alba vel albida, in parte inferiore stipitis tenaci, molliore ceterum, latice albo, in speciminibus junioribus ad cinnamomeum vergente sicando nec non in maculis lamellarum; odore nullo; sapore miti. Sporis 7.5-9 x 6.2-7.5 µ, brevissime ellipsoideis vel sat breviter ellipsoideis, heterotropis, ornamentatione altitudine variabili (0.6-1.4 µ), typi II, II-IIIa, IIIb, plerumque cristulata (II), minus frequenter reticulatis (IIIa), raro incomplete reticulatis (IIIb); basidiis 30-45 x 7-10.3 µ, clavatis, mox collabentibus et tunc basidiolis in elementa cystidioloidea transformatis quae basidiis homologa sunt, fertilibus tertra- vel bi-sporis; lacto-cystidiis (pseudocystidiis e prolungatione laticiferarum in hymenium natis) plus minusve 8.3 µ latis, rotundatis ad apicem, haud appendiculatis, moderate numerosis, contentu amorpho haud cresylophilo impletis; tramate hymenophorali intermixto, sed sphaerocystibus destituto, laticiferis numerosis voluminosis intermixto (laticiferis usque ad 18.5 µ latis), hyphis cylindraceis nonnullis subinflatis sed 7-11 µ diam., haud superantibus; subhymenio in juvenilibus ex hyphis elongatis tenuibus, catenulatis consistente, dein nonnulis elementis latioribus sed vix isodiametricia catenulatis in parte inferiore subhymenii praesentibus; epicute pilei ex elementis erectis flavis crasse tunicatis piliformibus ex strati hypodermiales elementis tumidis natis (elementis his clavato-vesiculatis vel vesiculato-fusoideis vel subglobosis, frequenter verticaliter catenulatis hyaline, 9.5-17 µ); hyphis omnibus inamyloideis, defibulatis.
