Original diagnosis

Pileus 3-7 cm, convexus, submammosus, dein sudbepressus, margine primitus involuta; cuticules laevis, nitida vel leviter viscosa, purpureobadia, atropurpurea vel brunneo-violacea vix pallescens, interdum ad marginem carminea vel omnino brunneo-xerampelina, postremo sordide rosea, raro usque olivacea, decolorata. Lamellae adnatae, subdecurrentes, subconfertae, primo albescentes dein sordide ochraceae, postremo raro viridescentes. Stipes 3-6 x 0,6-1,2 (1,7) cm, primo saepe clavatus, dein subcylindraceus, solidus vix medullosus longitudinaliter striato-venosus, purpureo-roseus vel rubro-violaceus, pruines caerulea in juventute dilutus. Caro tenacior, alba vel subglauca, in stipitis medulla magis minus vel rufescentes, sub cuticules nonnumquam profunde roseo-purpurea. Sapor acriusculus, odor debilis dein leviter aromaticus subpelargoniatus, vix ut R. Queletii; reactiones: gaiaco nulla, ferro aurantio-rosea, sulfoformale caeruleo-violacea. Pulvis sporarum cremeo-pallida (II d. Romagn.). Sporae 8-9,5 x 6,5-8 µm, verrucis amyloideis curte spinulosis (0,5-1 µm) segregatis, geminis vel subcatenulatis haud reticulatis. Cystidia copiosa (praecipue ad marginem), fusiformia, magis minus appendiculata. Basidia normalia usque 55 x 10 µm. Cuticula pilibus flexuosis, subcylindraceis vel leviter clavatis, raro subcapitatis vel nodulosis. Dermatocystidia cylindracea vel subclavata, interdum subnodulosa, 0-3 septata. In Picetis siliceis, saepe cum Callunis Vacciniisque, prope Eu (Galba-Normandia) lectus; types in herbario meo (Lille) Nº 2924, conservatur.
