Original diagnosis

Pileo 6–9,5 cm, late et alte medio depresso, margine satis tenui, primum involuta, candido, sed medio colore brunneolo, ex ochraceo rufulove sordide brunneo, interdum stramineo, cute levi, primum lucido, aetate paulum impolito. Stipite 3 × 1,6 cm, pleno, deinde medullato, candido, paulum aetate stramineo, vel brunneolo in aciebus rugarum colorato, pruinoso. Carne crassa, dura, candida, odore in mentem simul R. delicam atque etiam pectinatam revocante, sapore acri. Lamellis parum stipatis, inaequalissimis, longe decurrentibus, cremeis, deinde intensius ochraceis. Sporis flavis, 7,5–8 × 6,5–6,7 µm, spinulis 0,7 vel 1 µm altis, singularibus, raro parvis cristis vel lineolis coniunctis, haud reticulatis. Basidiis 47–60 × 10–11,5 µm. Cystidiis cylindratis, saepe appendiculatis, ope Sulfovanillinae partim nigrescentibus, sed non intensissime. Cute hyphis tenuissimis, cum passim dermatocystidiis nigrescentibus, 3–5,7 µm latis. — In fagetis vel silvis frondosis. Typus Herb. Romagnesi; Mus. Nat. Paris, nº 52-77.
