Original diagnosis

Pileo albo vel sordide flavido, tacto et aetate brunnescente, in siccis sordide brunneolo ; cuticula viscida, mox sicca, rimoso-areolata in centro, aegre neque omnio separabili, margine abrupte acutato, levi instructo ; convexo et centro depresso, 40-80 mm. lato. Cuticula ex hyphis filamentosis et laticiferis numerosissimis sulfovanillinae ope caerulescentibus, usque ad 170 x 9 µ magnis et, supra illas, strato epicuticulari cystidiis carente formata. Epicute hyphis hymeniformiter dispositis, crassotunicatis, membrana flavobrunnea, extus saepe exasperata instructis, pluries septatis, cellula terminali calviformi vel subglobulosa, usque ad 10 µ lata. In centro areolato pilei laticiferae rarae sunt. KOH : - (non brunnescens !). Lamellis albis, sed fractis brunneomaculatis, confertis vel subdistantibus, angustis, subaequalibus vel paucis brevioribus intermixtis, nonnullis prope basin furcatis. Sporis in cumulo albis. Sp. s. m. hyalinis, subtiliter verrucosis, sed iodi ope aculeolis cylindraceis manifestis (± 0,8 µ longis) sec. typ. VI, raro IV, ornamentatis, breviter ellipsoidalibus, 9-11,5 x 7,5-9,7 µ. Basidiis numerosis, fusoideo-acutatis, intus plerumque granulosis, sulfovanillinae ope caerulescentibus, 70-120 x 10-10,8 µ. Trama ex hyphis filamentosis et sphaerocystis (± 15 µ diam.) formata. Stipite pallido (dull white), tacto et laeso sordide brunneo, aequali, firmo-fragili, farcto 40-50 x 15-20 mm., in siccis cavo, superficie, imprimis ad apicem, tota obtecta corpusculis furfuraceis, pileo concoloribus. Laticiferis numerosissimis ; crinibus analogis elementis epicutis pilei ; praeterea in vestimento externo stipitis sunt crines cystidioidei, intus paullum granulosi. Carne alba, in pileo dura.
