Original diagnosis

R. anthracina (= R. albonigra ss. Singer). — Pileo 7-12 cm lato, firmo e plano convexo, ample, non vero altissime medio depresso, margine obtusa, involuta, dein paulum sinuosa, fuliginoso vel umbrino super fundum albidum, cute brevi tempore sicca, rugulosa vel venosa. Stipite 3-6 × 1,5-2,5 cm, firmo, cylindrato, pleno, albo, dein fuliginoso vel atro colore tincto. Carne crassa, alba, dein grisea vel atra. Odore obsoleto; sapore in forma typica acri, dulci in var. insipida n. var. in lamellis saltem. Lamellis plerumque ± stipatis, inaequalibus, saepe furcatis, arcuatis, falciformibus vel paulum ventricosis, cremeis vel lacteis, paulum incarnatis vel rufescentibus (sed pallidissime), dein negro maculatis. Sporis in pulvere candidis, 7,7-9,7 × 6,7-8 µ, maxime reticulatis, verrucis pustuliformibus, brevibus, connexis. Basidiis 43-72 × 7-11,5 µ. Cystidiis fusiformibus 57-100 × 5,7-8 µ. Epicute sine dermatocystidiis, sed laticiferis in cortice stipits praesentibus. — In silvis uvidis, saepe in sol luteo.
