Original diagnosis

acris, pileo sub-obtuso squamuloso sicco ochraceo-rubro, lamellis ochraceis, stipite subfarcto.
Priori utique affinis. Stipes 2-3 unc. longus, ½ unc. crassus, subpruinatus. Pileus testaceus, villoso-squamulosus, fragilis, statura prioris. Lam. saepe dichotomae. Odor debilis, sapor acris, lac album immutabile; sed variat mitis, lacte aqueo, non colorato. Synonyma difficile extricantur: Clausio videtur Fung. esc. g. XX. spec. I.; sed esc. g. X. sp. I sub torminoso nominata, ex descriptione huc facile referres. Inde pendent dubia Bauhini, Sterbeckii etc. A. ruber Pers. syn. n. 433 ex descr. ad anguem quadrat, sed A. lactifluo Schaeff. t. 5 habitu valde dissimilis e. s. p. In pinetis, locis humidis, vulgaris. Jul.-Nov. (v. v.).
