Original diagnosis

Pileo 3,5-7 cm. lato, primum convexo deinde medio late depresso, margine obtusa, interdum lobata, cito alte crateriformi vel infundibuliformi atque margine recta vel fere resima, circum ± pallide aurantiaco et medio e fulvo rufo, obnubilo, impolito, interdum subtiliter s. l., rimoso. Carne subrigida, sed fragili, e rufula albida, odore cimicario; lacte haud fluxo, candido, primum dulci, deinde paulum in faucibus acri. Lamellis substipatis, inaequalibus, saepe furcatis, in adultris manifeste decurrentibus, 5-8 mm. latis, pallide auroreis, deinde ex aurantiacis rufulis. Stipite brevi, 3-4 x 0,9-1,6 cm., plerumque deorsum attenuato, lepide aurantiaco, in basi rufo, deinde vivide aurantiaco, et deorsum e purpureo badio, superne laevi (sed saepe sub lamellis sulcato), alibi pruinoso-adpresso et subtiliter ruguloso. Sporis manifeste ex cremeis ochraceis, globosis, 7,5-8,5 x 6,5-7,5 µ., ornamentis maxime variis, in forme typica spinis metalibus, 07-1 µ. altis, saepe in cristulas confluentibus vel connexis. Cystidiis fusiformibus, acutissimis, 7,5-8,5 µ. latis. Cute filamentosa, hyphis intermixtis. - In nemoribus frondosis, in solo luteo, frequens.
