Original diagnosis

Major, 5-10 cm. latus et altus, sparsus aut cespitosus, pileo convexo, viscidulo, olivaceo-nigrescente, medio vix zonato, margine pallido, lamellis pediculoque ochraceo-cinereis, tritis fuscescentibus; lacte copioso albo, dein acre et amarescente. Pileus carnosus, convexus vix aetate applanatus, impolitus, viscidulus sed non glutinosus, olivaceo-nigrescens, ad medium sub et irregulariter zonatus aut unicolor sed semper ad marginem ochraceum pallidior. Pediculus solidus, subviscidus, inaequalis, ad basim attenuatus, ochraceo-olivaceus, lamellis paululum obscurior. Lamellae primitus ochraceae, dein pallide ochraceo-cinereae, adnatae aut adnato-subdecurrentes. Caro alba, vulneribus cinereo-fuscentibus. Lac copiosum album dein fuscescens, abunde vulneribus fluens, primo mite, dein acre et amarescens. Sporae rotundatae aut ovalo-rotundatae, albae, echinato-reticulatae, 10-11 µ. longae, 7-8 latae. Ad terram in fagetis copiose legit circa Parisios, saepius cespitosum in sylva Villers-Cotterets dicta.
