Original diagnosis

Pileus 3-10 cm latus, e convexo-applanato depressus, ad centrum aurantio-brunneus, ad marginem pallide griseo-brunneus, siccus, pruinosus, azonatus; ad marginem primo involutus. Lamellae adnato-decurrentes, griseo-brunneae, confertae cum lamellulis intermixtae. Stipes 3-7 x 0.7-2 cm, cylindricus, firmus, solidus, albidus, laevis. Caro crassa, pallide grisea, immutabilis, firma intermixta. Latex copiosus, albidus. Sporae in cumulo cinnamomeo-brunneae, 9.5-11.5 x 8.5-9.5 (10.4 ± 0.5 x 9 ± 0.3) µm, Q= 1.15, subglobosae, luteobrunneae, ornamentatione reticulata amyloidea, verrucis 0.5 µm. altis vestitae. Basidia 40-45 x 8-10 µm, elongato-clavata, 4-sporigena. Acies lamellarum fertilis vel heteromorphosa. Pseudocystidia copiosa, 50-90 x 8-21 µm, fusiformia, saepe mucronata, subhyalina, crassitunicata, intus in sulphovanillina caerulescentia. Trama hymenophoralis intermixta, hyalina. Epicutis pilei trichodermialis, dermatocystidiis carens. Typus: Zambia, Rose 7811 (holotypus K).
