Original diagnosis

Pileus 13-30 mm diam., planoconvexus ad quasi applanatus, depressus, papilla irregulare, pellis velutina ad rugulosa, rubrobrunnea ad carminea, margine striato ad sulcato. Lamellae distantes, adnatae ad decurrentes, pallide aurantiae. Stipes 10-30 mm longus, 3-6 mm crassus, irregulare cylindratus, laevis, brunneoaurantiacus, griseoaurantiacus, cavus. Contextus fragilis, albidus, gustu mitis, odor nullis. Latex aquosus, albidus. Sporae ellipsoideae, 11-12.1-13.4 x 8.1-9.0-9.8 µm, verrucis elongatis, 0.2 µm altis, interdum connexis vel in cristis brevis confluentibus reticulum densum sed incompletum formantibus ornatae, macula suprahilaris non amyloidea. Basidia 55-70 x 12-15 µm, subclavata, tetraspora. Pleurolamprocystidia abundantia, emergentia, parieto incrassatissimo. Leptocystidia et pleuropseudocystidia presentia. Pileipellis ex cellulis crassetunicatis, cylindraceis palisadam formantibus. - Typus: Zimbabwe, Verbeken 99-099 (holo- GENT).
