Original diagnosis

Pileus 6-15 cm diam., convexus ad applanatus et leviter depressus; pileipellis leviter velutina ad pruinosa, flavidobrunnea, aurantiobrunnea vel brunnea. Stipes 2.5-5.0 cm longus, 1.8-2.2 cm crassus, subcylindratus ad cylindratus, concolorus. Lamellae adnatae ad leviter decurrentes, confertae, albidae ad cremeae, brunnescentes. Contextus brunnescens, gustu mitis. Latex abundans, albus ad griseo-aurantius, brunnescens. Sporae allipsoideae, 7.5-8.3-9.0 x 5.9-6.8-7.6 µm, irregulariter verrucosae; verrucis sublaevibus, usque ad 0.2 µm altis, interdum connexis vel plus minusve in cristis brevibus confluentibus ornatae; macula suprahilaris non amyloidea. Basidia 45-52 x 7-9 µm, cylindrata ad subcylindrica, tetraspora. Macropleurocystidia absentia. Pseudopleurocystidia moderate abundantia, 4-5 µm diam., cylindrica, obtusa, emergentia. Pileipellis hymeniderma, bistrata; elementa suprapellis 15-40 x 4-7 µm, cylindrata, obtusa, septata, incrustata, pariete leviter incrassato; subpellis pseudoparenchymata vel rudimentalis. Holotypus: Verbeken 94.159 (BR, isotypus GENT), Burundi, Burundi Prov., near Rumonge, Nkayamba hill, open woodland dominated by Brachystegia bussei and B. microphylla, iii 1994.
