Original diagnosis

Pileus 32-110 mm diam., primo convexus, leviter depressus, margine incurvo tum planoconvexus, forte depressus ad infundibuliformis, margine irregulari, undulato, striato; pileipellis pruinosa quasi velutina interdum in centro rimulosa, leviter glutinosa, flavido-aurantia, aurantia vel rubrobrunnea. Stipes 10-35 mm longus, 10-22 mm crassus, curtus, cylindratus, laevis, pallide flavus ad pallide aurantiacus. Lamellae adnatae ad decurrentes, moderate distantes, 3-6 mm latae, moderate crassae, pallide aurantiae ad aurantioalbidae. Contextus firmus, albidus ad pallide aurantiacus, gustu primo mitis, tum acris; odor fragrans. Latex translucido-albus. Sporae ellipsoideae, 9.5-10.5-10.6-11.5 x 7.6-8.2-8.4-9.0 µm; verrucis sublaevibus, irregularibus, interdum connexis vel in cristis brevibus confluentibus (0.5 µm altis) ornatae; macula suprahilaris non amyloidea. Basidia 65-75 x 10-12 µm, subcylindrata ad subclavata, tetraspora. Pleurocystida absentia. Pleuropseudocystidia abundantia. Pileipellis (ixo)cutis, cellulae terminales periclines, cylindratae clavatae vel irregulares, interdum parieto leviter incrassato, dermatopseudocystidia presentia. - Typus: Zimbabwe, Verbeken 99-002 (holo- GENT).
