Original diagnosis

Pileus 1-7 cm diam., infundibuliformis; margine sursum reflexo, valde striato ad sulcato; pileipellis laevis, non viscosa, leviter fibrosa in centro, pallide aurantia ad griseo-aurantia. Stipes 4-5 cm. longus, 1-2 cm crassus, cylindratus, basin versus attenuatus, rimosus ad laevis, flavidus. Lamellae decurrentes, distantes, crassae, 7 mm. latae, fragiles, flavidae. Contextus albus ad cremeus, gustu primo mitis tum acris. Latex non abundans, albus. Sporae albae in cumulo, ellipsoideae, 8.2-9.0-9.7 x 6.6-7.3-7.9 µm, verrucis sublaevibus, usque ad 0.2 µm altis, interdum connexis vel plus minusve in cristis brevibus confluentibus ornatae, non reticulatae; macula suprahilaris interdum diffuse centrale amyloidea. Basidia (40)50-60 x 9-12 µm, subclavata ad clavata, tetraspora. Macropleurocystidia absentia. Pseudopleurocystidia abundantia, 10-17 µm diam., cylindrata vel subfusiformia, interdum mucronata, emergentia usque ad 50 µm. Pileipellis ixocutis; locale ex catenis elementorum curtorum, cylindratorum, 20-40 x 5-10 µm; elementa terminalis obtusa, interdum mucronata. Holotypus: Verbeken 94.535 (BR, isotypus GENT), Burundi, Bururi Prov., Nyamirambo, Rumonge Forest Reserve, 850-950 m alt., miombo woodland dominated by Brachystegia utilis, iv 1994.
