Alessio Pierotti (b. December 23rd, 1973) is an amateur mycologist interested in Russulales, with particular interest to the mycological flora of the Mediterranean regions. He belongs to the mycological group of the Museum of Natural History of the Mediterranean in Livorno (Tuscany) since 1988.

In 2002 he won the 1st edition of the "A. Cicognani" price for young mycologists, organized by the Bresadola Mycological Association. He is contributing to the web-site many of the original diagnoses for Lactarius and the sequestrate taxa.
